Becker Vineyards is a premier winery located in the heart of Texas Hill Country. The winery offers a wide range of award-winning wines, tours, tastings and events that are sure to delight wine enthusiasts from all over the world.
The history of Becker Vineyards dates back to 1990 when Dr. Richard and Bunny Becker purchased a ranch in Stonewall, Texas with the intention of starting a vineyard. They planted their first vines in 1992 and have since grown into one of the most respected wineries in Texas.
Today, Becker Vineyards produces over 100,000 cases of wine annually from grapes grown on their estate vineyard as well as other select vineyards throughout Texas. Their wines have won numerous awards both nationally and internationally.
Winery Tours
One of the highlights at Becker Vineyards is their winery tours. Visitors can take a guided tour through the estate vineyard where they will learn about grape growing techniques specific to this region as well as see firsthand how grapes are harvested and processed into wine.
After touring the vineyard, visitors can then take a tour through the state-of-the-art winemaking facility where they will learn about fermentation techniques used by Becker's expert team to produce some of their award-winning wines.
Wine Tastings
No visit to Becker Vineyards would be complete without sampling some of their delicious wines. Visitors can choose from several tasting options including:
- Classic Tasting: This tasting includes six samples from their current wine list.
- Reserve Tasting: This tasting includes six samples from their reserve collection.
- Library Tasting: This tasting includes six samples from past vintages that are no longer available for purchase.
- Wine & Cheese Pairing: This tasting includes five samples paired with artisanal cheeses selected specifically for each wine.
Events
Becker Vineyards hosts several events throughout the year including:
- Lavender Festival: Held annually in May, this festival celebrates all things lavender with live music, food vendors and more.
- Grape Stomp: Held annually in August or September (depending on harvest), this event allows visitors to stomp grapes just like Lucy did on "I Love Lucy."
- Wine Club Pick-Up Parties: Held quarterly for members only, these parties allow members to pick up their quarterly shipment while enjoying live music and complimentary food pairings.
