Awesome place to volunteer if bird banding is within your interests. Field staff that are out there during the banding season are very friendly and welcoming. The area is great for birding with a great diversity of species during the summer months.

A favorite walking place for me and my wife. We have been three times now in spring, summer, and early winter (Nov 11). Waterfowl at the weir are skittish but always some friendly, curious birds at the feeders.
