The thing I've noticed: They allow interior dining now. That wasn't the case earlier, understandably so. There's still an array of tables and chairs outside, where patrons sit at.
Look, considering how the nearby Starbucks location is being operated, I've decided to make this my go-to spot for purchasing iced coffee.
For two consecutive weeks, I've purchased their iced mocha coffee. It's still a hot beverage at first, but the ice is pre-added; then the espresso is brewed; the mocha is added into the espresso; and then---after asking the kind of milk you prefer (I've chosen full milk, lately)---they put the milk in.
It's wonderful, to say the least.
I've also purchased two cans of San Pellegrino Aranciata Rossa (I believe that means "Blood Orange" in Italian). Exquisite, as well! I simply pour both cans into my canister with the ice already therein.
And then I'm off!
I can't wait for this unnerving, unfortunately existing pandemic to end, so to be able to dine inside without difficulty!
Correct? I cannot be the only one!

Place was crowded when we went. Lots of people on their laptops just getting work done. It s funny that it s not just a coffee shop. They serve food plus beer and alcohol. Coffee is alright. I got a chai latte which personally was a bit overpriced but guess that comes with the fancy designs on top of these coffees made by the baristas.

Very disappointing experience! My sister and I went here while my dad was at DMC having a stress test no one greeted us we sat at the bar for 10 mins with no one coming to us. They were not busy AT ALL! The bartender was wiping down bottles. Sad to say we left!

I go here on occasion to get coffee in the morning (probably 20-30 total visits). It is very close to my house so it's convienent proximity wise. It's a smaller locall business so I expect the prices to be higher but they truly push the limit of acceptibity. I've lived in NYC and spent lots of time abroad in various parts of the globe including notoriously expensive London and Australia. That being said I've never paid over $5 for a cup of coffee in my life until this place... Arrogant hipster pricing as I see it. The staff follows suit. Arrogant hipsters, which even if the place is dead inside will gladly leave you hanging for a minute or two (changing music and whatnot) before they help you. Once your order is complete, they'll gladly slide you a receipt to sign expecting a tip for their hard work. Their demeanor on the tip thing reminds me of the entitled wait staff of Austin,TX. Almost demanding a tip for pouring a cup of coffee or steaming some milk. I wanted this place to be good so bad cuz it's close but it's horrible. The inside is cool and I love the bar/coffee shop mix but the staff/service is horrible and it's a place that makes you feel like you're overpaying to be a part of...

Had a wonderful experience! My business partner and I were looking for a nice place to sit down and get some collaboration projects hashed out and completed. We came around 7p and found a couple seats up front at the window facing Woodward. We had plenty of power access and the wifi was excellent! We were greeted with welcoming service, my BP ordered a latte, I opted to go with the barista recommendation of a spiced mocha it was absolutely divine and my business partner and I enjoyed a pleasently productive evening until they closed at 11p. We will be returning when we are in the area.

High prices. Mediocre food. No table service. (If you want another second of anything... or anything else, you must get up, wait on line again, and order it!) They must be losing a ton of money with this method. Bagel and Lox $13 contained very little, squashed pieces of lox and an over abundance of cream cheese... UGH! Arrogant attitude from food server when I politely asked that my table be cleaned before sitting. And, they didn't clean it! Never again!

Discourteous and snooty customer service. If you're not a local hipster Midtowner, as I who was visiting from out of state, or are a customer who walks in to use the bathroom first, they will look at you like you're an alien. I hate the way they stared at my mother when she walked in. I felt very unwelcome with their condescending treatment here. Especially the guy who took my order. When visiting the more pleasant parts of Detroit, just skip this place.

The last time I came they treated a homeless man so poorly that I nearly cried. A gentleman from the street asked for a cup of water on a hot day, the barista pointed to the cups and pitcher of water as if he was an alien and when he finished taking a drink, she handled his used cup with such disgust. It was awful! She treated him as if he wasn't a human being. You came to make money from urban Detroit residents, don't treat the homeless of Detroit with such disgust. He asked for water! Free water! Ashamed of them and will not go back again!

Great Lakes Coffee is a place I stumbled upon on my way home from an errand and I'm so glad that I did. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful and their coffee is amazing. Their lavender latte is there nose popular drink and rightfully so because it's some of the best coffee I've ever had, and I've been to Italy. Would highly recommend.
