A long-established educational institution with a history in Egypt
The American University in Cairo is an independent, not-for-profit, multi-cultural, and interdisciplinary Egyptian university, and the university is one of the largest universities that provide outstanding education in English. It was established in 1919 in Tahrir Square in the center of the Egyptian capital, Cairo, and its current headquarters has become in New Cairo, and it has a Guardian Council and some administrative offices in New York. Its first president was Charles Watson, who had been its president for 25 years, born in Cairo in 1873. The university offers an education based on a liberal approach based on critical and analytical thinking for undergraduate and graduate students, professional programs, as well as continuing education programs.
Kasai University in Tahrir Square and located in New Cairo
AUC is one of beautiful place in Egypt, It is a pleasure to have this place in the Middle East
I had a bad experience today with accessing the campus through gate 4.
It is very advancd University, yet reserving the oriental theme in it's buildings.
People there are very helpful and positive.
It was great being there.
This place is so wonderful full with joy and good souls
I am a student in this third year of high school, and I hope to join this university, and I hope the president will grant me a scholarship to study at this university.
This school is a terrible place to learn. I came here for a semester long exchange and quickly found that the academic atmosphere here is barely extant. There are obnoxiously loud events on campus every day that make it too loud to study anywhere. The library has no area that is enforced as a quiet area for studying (other than the rare books library on the top floor, which unfortunately has very limited hours). I also found that many of the lecturers come to class unprepared. My school in the U.S. is much better at facilitating student needs despite charging less than half the tuition rate of AUC. It's really a shame what this place is, I have heard that in the past it was home to a much more rigorous academic attitude. I hope it evolves in order to retain that status for the good of its country.
