Dennis, the mafia don leader of Appesteem is the biggest jerk I've ever dealt with. He's rude, threatening, condescending, and a bunch of other names this site probably won't let me post.

They put our product on their deceptor list and then start contacting us to pay their $1k/mo fee to get us off the deceptor list and to solve the antivirus detections they caused.

Appesteem put our company on their “deceptor” list and so many antivirus companies detected us it was impossible to stay in business or get any distribution from our partners.

The only way we could fix this problem is by signing up to their $1,000/mo plan to allow us to stay in business.

I miss the old days when we didn’t have to pay monthly extortion fees to Appesteem to stay in business.

I sent Appesteem an email showing them the companies that pay their monthly fee breaking their own rules. That was 4 months ago and all the companies that pay their monthly fee still break Appesteem’s rules.

Like the Apepsteem salesman told me - when you’re a member of Appesteem, we do whatever we can to make sure to keep you a paying member. I guess that means looking the other way while putting the non-members out of business for the same marketing tactics.

This seems like nothing more than an extortion scheme.

I called this place and their salesman said when you're a paying member, they don’t look real close at what you do. All you have to do is pass the yearly overview and they only check out your site once a year. So pass that and you can do whatever you want.

Meanwhile the companies that don’t pay their monthly extortion bill can be put out of business at random with no notice or warning at all.

Seems like a mafia type organization.

It's odd how they have screenshots of AVG breaking their rules on their website, yet since AVG helps enforce their rules by putting their competition out of business, Appesteem does nothing.

Their Salesman told me they look the other way when you're a paying member. How is this legal?

Appesteem is the most insane organization I’ve ever seen. They put your software on their deceptor list, so you get detected by all the large antivirus companies (these large antivirus companies are exempt from the same rules) and then they ask you to pay them to fix the detections they caused.

While the large antivirus companies get to put all the smaller competitors out of business.

What an amazing scam. I never thought I’d see something this insane in the United States.

Why has the FTC not put this scam out of business by now?

They work with all the large antivirus companies to put all the smaller companies out of business.

How is this legal?

I don’t understand how charging companies $1,000 so the large antivirus companies don’t put them out of business is legal.

If you don’t pay them, they’ll just put your software on their list with no warning at all and then they ask you to pay them to fix the AV detections.

All the large antivirus companies are exempt from Apesteems rules, this is proven by the fact they have screenshots of AVG Tuneup on their site violating their rules, but they are not on their “deceptor” list.

Its a great way for the large companies to limit competition, increase the number of detections and for the owners of Appesteem to charge companies $1,000/mo to not get put out of business.
