If you are looking for a serious bootcamp in San Francisco, App Academy is an intense but rewarding experience. I started with zero coding knowledge and finished with three full-stack projects under my belt. The support system is robust, with helpful instructors, TAs, career coaches, and peers ready to help you succeed. I really appreciated the structured curriculum, which fit my learning style perfectly. Just know that the pace is fast and demands your complete focus. For anyone eager to break into tech and commit fully to becoming a developer, I highly recommend this trade school. The job market can be tough, so your success will depend on your dedication and effort, but you will gain the confidence to keep going after graduating.

I’ve been dabbling in coding since high school, but I always hit roadblocks that left me stuck, and the steep price tag of traditional school was a major barrier. App Academy in San Francisco changed that. The one-on-one access to instructors made asking questions feel safe and productive. Thanks to the Income Share Agreement, I could finally afford to turn my hobby into a real career without the financial stress.

App Academy really understands that life happens. I needed to defer a few times because of work and family issues, and they were incredibly accommodating. The instructors in San Francisco are patient and supportive. The curriculum is clear, and they provide all the resources you need to succeed.

I actually considered switching to a different boot camp, but the team at App Academy in San Francisco convinced me to stick with them. Their reassurance that I was in good hands really set the tone. Now, I’m convinced that App Academy is the right starting point for my programming journey. Their approach is both fair and understanding, and I truly love the experience.

App Academy’s intensive program in San Francisco effectively prepares students for software engineering roles. I gained proficiency in various technologies needed to develop full-stack web applications during my studies. The supportive community made it easy to form lasting connections within just four months. A major advantage is the income share agreement model, which means I only pay after securing a job, allowing me to dedicate my full attention to learning and job hunting.

My time at the trade school in San Francisco was an intense but rewarding journey. The program’s rigorous curriculum provided plenty of hands-on experience, and while the exams were tough, the final weeks allowed us the freedom to build our own creative projects. Landing a role in today’s competitive market took some patience, but I’m thrilled to report that I’ve secured my dream job thanks to the foundation I built there. Highly recommended.

For anyone serious about breaking into tech, App Academy in San Francisco is the place to be. I finished the program in April 2023 and had a job lined up by the next week, securing a full-time position just four months later. Coming from a background in clinical psychology research with no prior coding experience, the transformation was incredible. I walked away with the ability to build apps across various modern web stacks, but more importantly, I gained the confidence to tackle new frameworks and solve complex problems using code. It’s definitely a grind—you have to put in the hours—but the support system is robust. The career services are exceptional, offering unlimited access to live-coding mentors, behavioral coaches, and technical advisors. The current job market is tough, so this path isn’t for the weak, but after six months of intense study, App Academy equipped me with a strong portfolio that ultimately helped me land my role.

Seeking a career pivot, I chose App Academy in San Francisco after a friend’s glowing recommendation and a comparison with other bootcamps. Taking the program remotely during the pandemic, I found the instruction exceptional, supported by abundant coaching from both staff and peers. The curriculum is meticulously designed and constantly evolving. While the weekly assessments are demanding, all necessary resources are at your fingertips. Career support extends well beyond coding, with frequent workshops on resumes, personal sites, and interview practice to help you stand out. The goal is clear: to launch you into a tech career. It requires dedication—expect 50-70 hour weeks of intense learning for six months. If you’re not ready to grind, this might not fit, but if you are, the payoff is immense. I went from warehouse work to securing a software developer role at a Fortune 500 company after submitting around 500 applications. Though pricey, App Academy is genuinely life-changing and absolutely worth the investment.

My time at App Academy in San Francisco equipped me with the practical skills needed to thrive in the software industry. I made great use of their industry partnerships and secured a fantastic role within just three to four months. While the results were real, it’s unrealistic to expect the 24-week program to hand you superpowers. The core value lies in learning how to research and think independently. This approach sharpens your intellect, strengthening both your technical and problem-solving abilities. Since starting my new role, I’ve had to dive into TypeScript, Electron, Capacitor, Nx monorepos, Recoil, Jotai, and even building Node.js plugins. I wouldn’t have managed that workload if I had studied alone. While some self-taught developers can do the same, if you prefer mastering best practices and collaborating with highly talented peers, App Academy is the right choice.

If you can handle the grind of an immersive, in-person environment, App Academy in San Francisco is a fantastic choice. I completed their 16-week software engineering bootcamp right here in the city, and having the instructors and peers physically present made a huge difference. The ability to pair program and get immediate feedback was invaluable. Be prepared for intense days—expect around eight hours of lectures and coding, plus additional homework at night—but the effort pays off. The program equips you with the right tools, project experience, and career support to land a job. While the curriculum focuses less on Python, it effectively teaches you how to pick up new languages and frameworks independently. Coming from a marketing background with no coding experience, I found the job search challenging; it took me six months to secure two offers due to a slow market. Still, if you are committed to a career shift, the rigor of the App Academy program is absolutely worth it.

Completing App Academy’s 24-week online program in San Francisco was an intense but incredibly rewarding experience. Looking back, the volume of material covered is staggering, yet every hour spent coding late into the night was justified. The curriculum is structured around daily lectures, homework preparation, and afternoon pair programming sessions, followed by guided study time and review guides before assessments. It’s a supportive environment where instructors, who are themselves App Academy alumni, break down complex concepts with empathy because they’ve walked the same path. You’ll definitely hit moments of feeling overwhelmed, but that’s normal. If you already have a coding background, some parts will come easily, but there is still plenty of new territory to explore. The career support team is a standout feature. With dedicated behavioral and technical coaches, plus mock interviews and workshops, they help you refine your approach to the job market. Make the most of these resources by being proactive in your communication. While App Academy has industry partnerships, remember that securing a role still requires you to pass standard interviews. Hiring cycles vary by company, so expect a mix of applications and rejections, especially in the current market. Don’t let that discourage you; the foundation you build here will serve you well. Revisiting the course material after graduation also helps solidify your knowledge.

If you are considering a career pivot into software engineering, App Academy in San Francisco is an excellent choice. The instructional team is top-tier, delivering a curriculum designed to maximize your potential. I particularly appreciated the daily pair programming sessions and the opportunity to present capstone projects, which helped solidify my skills. The campus itself is modern and fosters a strong sense of community among cohort members. Be aware that this is an intensive program; you should expect to dedicate around 60 hours per week to keep up, as the pace does not slow down. While the curriculum is strong, note that it does not cover Python or Java, which are currently in high demand. The job hunt will be your biggest hurdle, so prepare for a search that could last at least six months. Fortunately, the alumni network and career services team are incredibly supportive in helping you navigate the market.

If you are based in San Francisco and want to pivot your career, App Academy is a solid choice. The program keeps its coursework fresh and relevant, which helps. The instructors are knowledgeable, and the career support team really goes the extra mile. After finishing the course, I dedicated a month to polishing my portfolio and then two months actively job hunting. I submitted around 250 applications, made it to interviews with five different firms, and secured two job offers within three months of graduating. They provide all the necessary tools, but you have to bring the grind. Expect to sacrifice your evenings and weekends for coding practice and treat your job search with the same seriousness as a full-time role.

Choosing App Academy in San Francisco was the right move for me, largely due to its selective admissions and demanding curriculum. While coding is accessible to many, this bootcamp truly tests your limits. The 24-week schedule is intense, requiring significant time outside of standard hours for study, but the depth of knowledge you acquire is justified. Unlike many other programs, App Academy builds strong foundational skills that set you apart. The curriculum closely mirrors real-world engineering culture through practices like pair programming, collaborative projects, and daily standups, giving you concrete examples to discuss during job interviews. Although the instructors and TAs are rigorous, this pressure transforms you into a capable developer. If you are looking for an easy ride to a six-figure salary, this might not be for you; it requires hard work, but the effort pays off by the end.

App Academy in San Francisco is a solid choice for anyone aiming to start a career in tech. Their curriculum stays current and keeps adapting to industry changes. I had a fantastic experience and have already landed a software engineering position. Like any intensive program, it rewards those who put in the effort. It is particularly well-suited for self-motivated individuals who are willing to do the work.

My experience at App Academy in San Francisco was truly rewarding. The program’s heavy focus on hands-on learning over those six months is exactly what I was looking for. Beyond just mastering coding, I gained valuable soft skills like collaborative problem-solving, knowing how to ask the right questions, and adapting quickly to new concepts. Building personal projects helped me develop the ability to learn new technologies independently, leaving me confident that I could build whatever I wanted by the end of the curriculum. While the coursework was undeniably tough, it became enjoyable once I committed to the path. I was particularly impressed by the instructors and staff who genuinely cared about my progress. My only gripe is that the support during the job search phase felt a bit lighter, making that final hurdle slightly more difficult than the curriculum itself.

If you decide to join App Academy in San Francisco, make sure you are ready to put in serious hours. Their rigorous curriculum demands that you study the material ahead of time so you can tackle the daily projects without struggling. You will also face skills assessments that test your knowledge, so stay on top of things. Once you get through those hurdles, the real value shines through when you build your own websites using everything you’ve learned. The program does an excellent job of teaching you how to apply these skills independently, which is where the investment truly pays off. While the course is generally strong, I felt a few sections were glossed over and deserved more depth. The support for landing your next job is excellent, especially considering their job guarantee: if you don’t find employment within a year, they refund your tuition. For anyone committed to launching a career in software engineering, App Academy is a solid choice.

Having previously worked in retail, service, and veterinary care, I recently pivoted to a career as a software engineer thanks to App Academy in San Francisco. The school played a pivotal role in accelerating my professional growth. While the curriculum is intense, it is certainly manageable with the right mindset. The collaborative spirit among instructors and peers made the challenging material feel achievable. I appreciated how the hands-on projects allowed us to apply weekly lessons in a cumulative way, a practical approach that self-study online often lacks. The career support phase was emotionally taxing, but the guidance I received made a significant difference. I am deeply thankful for the experience. On the plus side, the program effectively trains you to rapidly absorb and apply new concepts, and the positive environment is infectious. A minor downside was the uneven contribution levels during group projects, which sometimes left me feeling adrift when transitioning to solo work. My advice is to communicate clearly with your teammates; everyone is there to support each other. Finally, be patient with yourself during the job search—it’s tough, but persistence pays off.

My experience with App Academy’s remote program in San Francisco during the pandemic was outstanding. The curriculum is genuinely rigorous, demanding a solid grasp of the material before you can progress week by week. This intensity ensures that graduates are thoroughly equipped for modern software engineering roles, utilizing current frameworks and staying up-to-date with industry standards. Beyond the coursework, what truly stands out is their commitment to career development. They actively help alumni navigate the job market through targeted workshops, practical projects, and strategic guidance. Their post-graduation support is relentless and deeply motivated, making it a far more comprehensive experience than many traditional academic institutions.

Attending App Academy was a great decision.

I came to App Academy with a bit of programming experience, having written some Python scripts for research and built a few toy games, but here we were taught not only how to code but how to be a good developer. They have a huge emphasis on best practices, making your code clear, concise, and efficient, easily changeable and readable by other developers, and I came out feeling like I could actually do this professionally.

The other students are all brilliant, curious people, eager to learn, happy to talk through the puzzles we faced, and by the time we were finished I felt like I'd made lifelong friends. It's a great environment to work and learn, and one of the best educational experiences I've ever had.

The TAs and staff are all very helpful, and they are there to support you even after the main course, when you begin your job hunt. The advice and practice they give in the job-hunting course is invaluable, and was key to my securing a job offer the week after the course ended.

You will have to dedicate yourself to this course for the duration, but it's definitely worth it - you'll learn new ways to think, meet fantastic people, and be equipped for a solid future when you leave.
