Snow was ok today with a few good spots. Alta ski, read ski area, still no snowboarders allowed, is a classic. Lots of terrain for every ability level.

Alta is the pinnacle of snow skiing in America. Yes, they have a friendly and professional staff, but that is not why I go there. I'll explain...The Great Salt Lake doesn't freeze because it is salty. This allows it to absorb heat on a sunny day (diurnal heating). Westerly winds grab hold of the warm, moist air that rises from the lake and blow it up Little Cottonwood Canyon. As the air rises in altitude, it cools and condenses. By the time it arrives at Alta, it falls as snow. 500 inches or more annually. It can be sunny one minute, then a snow squall arrives for an hour and the sun returns with 5" of fresh powder on the mountain for you to ski.Think of a magnificent alpine valley smothered in fresh powder and Mt. Superior watching over you as you glide in silence. Light as a snowflake. Now you understand.

Terrible place. Super bad snow. View is terrible. weather is terrible. Definitely wouldn't ski here. No one should ever come back. In fact they actually shut down so go skiing up another canyon.

Cant wait for next year. It truly is a ski classic. The powder is always there with the lack of snowboarders and for any skier you must try this place out to truly see what it means to be at a SKI resort. Even just riding the standing lift was worth the pass, man this place shows you just what skiing can be.

Located right next to Snowbird I don't think you can find a better ski area in the United States than Alta Snowbird. Alta in particular is viewed as the Godfather of all Independent based ski areas. It has that Independent feel with a bonus of all upgraded (fast) lifts. The mountain really is a special place and a must visit for epic snow days. Believe the hype, Alta truly is bucket list place to ski!

One of the best resorts to ski in Utah. You will always get the perfect snow on these slopes. It has terrain for all levels and skills.

World class skiing, with beginner friendly slopes near the Albion base. This area has a more local feel, especially since it is exclusively for skiing. The amenities are as good as what is on offer elsewhere near Salt Lake City, but in my opinion the slopes are the best in Utah! 10/10 would dive down High Rustler again.
