I wasn’t cited for a logging error, but for the company’s non-compliance. When I called Abilene, management wanted the trooper to confirm it themselves. Even after the trooper explained the violation to them, management told me to ignore the order and keep driving south on I-95, which would have meant hitting two more weigh stations on my way back. I had already decided to resign that day anyway. Because I refused to drive illegally, they had someone else come get the truck. If any abandonment mark shows up on my DAC report, my lawyer will be in touch. I have all the inspection paperwork to prove it, and so does Abilene.
