A Wider Bridge: Connecting Communities and Advocating for LGBTQ Rights in Israel
A Wider Bridge is a United States-based organization that aims to connect communities in the U.S. and Israel while advocating for LGBTQ rights in Israel. The organization was founded in 2010 by Arthur Slepian, who saw a need to bridge the gap between the two communities and create a platform for dialogue, education, and advocacy.
The mission of A Wider Bridge is to build bridges between LGBTQ communities in North America and Israel through education, advocacy, and community building. The organization believes that by creating connections between these two communities, they can work together towards achieving equality for all individuals regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
One of the primary goals of A Wider Bridge is to promote LGBTQ rights in Israel. Despite being one of the most progressive countries in the Middle East when it comes to LGBTQ rights, there are still many challenges faced by members of this community. A Wider Bridge works with local organizations on the ground in Israel to provide support and resources for those who need it most.
In addition to advocating for LGBTQ rights, A Wider Bridge also focuses on building relationships between Jewish and LGBTQ communities both within North America as well as with Israeli society at large. By fostering these connections through educational programs such as trips to Israel or cultural events like film screenings or lectures featuring prominent speakers from both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.
One way that A Wider Bridge has been able to achieve its goals is through its partnerships with other organizations around the world. These partnerships have allowed them access new resources while also expanding their reach beyond just North America or just Israel but rather globally.
Another key aspect of A Wider Bridges' work is providing support services such as counseling services or legal assistance when needed by members within either community they serve (LGBTQ+ people living outside US/Israel). This helps ensure that everyone has access not only equal opportunities but also equal protection under law regardless where they live around globe.
Overall, A wider bridge's mission statement reflects its commitment towards promoting equality among all individuals regardless their sexual orientation or gender identity while connecting different cultures across borders which makes them unique from other organizations working towards similar causes globally today!
