Love this place! Will be my go to bar for tequila in Austin.

Get ready, you haven t seen margaritas like this. I was impressed with the bartender s knowledge of things beyond Patron.

I ll be back but with a smaller group earlier in the day, it got busy as folks turned up for Old 97 s across the street.

This is a highlight in a long day of bbq and drinking.

My favorite bar of all time. So grateful to this place for turning me onto mezcal! My life is forever changed

I am just beginning my adventure in tequila and Bar 508 was a fantastic start. The bartender was great and was able to provide some great recommendations. Tried a custom made drink by the bartender, an old fashioned with tequila, and a fantastic Smokey mezcal.

Went back a 2nd night and Matt was my bartender. He was fantastic and made some great recommendations and was fun to talk with.

Wish I lived in Austin to enjoy this place more often.

Matt is amazing. Best bartender I ve come across. Let him do his thing and amaze your tastebuds with his creations.

So pretty much I sorta came here by accident. A little story. I found the bar on instagram about a month ago. Well a few weeks back I won a contest for a free bar snack, so I definitely came up quicker then I thought I was. Well this place did not disappoint. Happy hour was definitely good. Cocktail choices were excellent. "Jake" the lone bartender, definitely was killing it!(great personally, very knowledgeable, quick on his feet) just a awesome guy. Had the"queso borracho" flaming queso with chorizo! Dont pass it up. Honestly 5 stars for this, me and my mom enjoyed and this will always be a new stop for me in Austin

The bar itself is very low-key and can be easy to miss, but Matt Hartman is a great bartender and lights up the whole place with his divine cocktails and personality. 10/10 would recommend.

This space is an unexpected oasis of chill in the Red River district. Great spot to grab dinner and a couple pours of excellent mezcales and cocktails before a show across the street at Stubb's.

So I'm reviewing this bar specifically for their staff. I went to 508 one night and was alone. Matt not only is incredible at crafting some really creative cocktails on the fly, but he also made us women feel safe. Would absolutely stop by again 100% thanks to Matt and his creativity!

Nice dude at the bar, clean smelling restrooms, margarita machine broke, which is why we came there. Happens, but sucks that it was that way. We got a margarita without the slush and it was still aight.

Upon entering 508 Tequila Bar as a fresh Austinite, excited about the prospect of quality tequila, Crispen entered my life. He will forever be the Best bartender, the one who welcomed me into the Austin bar scene, who gave my mother and I a free margarita. I will forever be in debt to his hospitality and friendly nature, which made me realize that Austin is the Best City in the World.
Aside from great bartenders, 508 Tequila has a great selection of wonderful margaritas & other cocktails, Jenga, hula hoops, an outdoor seating area with a wonderfully large tree, and again, JENGA! The best game to play while drinking. My favorite drink at 508 is the extremely strong University of Texas-themed margarita, which is bright orange and so tasty that you'll want to have an endless amount (beware: the limit is two).
The bar also offers a respite from the scum of nearby dirty 6th. So go here. Say hi to bartender Crispen. And prepare for your life to change forever.

We did a tequila flight and the server was very informative and friendly. He made some great recommendations....sorry, I got too drunk to remember his name!

Had the absolute best bartender here! He was so nice, friendly and personable. My boyfriend and I came for a drink and each had a delicious cocktail and really enjoy the vibe of the place. I imagine it's crazy busy when it's not covid, but I also really enjoyed the slightly more laid back vibe :) highly recommend and would definitely come back!

Second day in Austin and Jay hooked us up at the bar. He went through all the mezcal that was offered and made us customized drinks (ask for mexican candy). Mentioned some great brunch places and made my friend and I really feel welcome.

Bartender kayla is awesome, always polite carrying a big smile everywhere she goes. Drinks always on point not too soft not too strong unless you can handle it lol definitely a place to grab a drink weather your starting the night or ending it.

Chill bartenders, tequila choices for days, closes too early, and interesting though oddly located venue.

Brought the in-laws to show them some Austin culture and they didn t disappoint. They had every tequila you can think of with a bartender there to guide you. My advice, if you re celebrating, is to go for the top shelf Dos Dragones tequila. Trust me, it ll make for an unforgettable night.

Room for improvement: They closed a little too early. To embody the true tequila soul, late night hours are a must. And maybe a taco truck nearby.

Sought this place out after seeing it on a few lists for Tequila cocktail bars. Our service was awesome, and she even charged my phone for a bit (which was a life saver using Birds and Lyft all day). The cocktails were OK. My Tequila old-fashioned was a little more sweet/flavored than I would have preferred - it didn't let any of the flavors of the tequila out. After that I got a House Margarita which was solid, and my wife ordered a Vodka-Soda which was very well (strongly) poured. We'd come back if we were in town again.

Funky/fun ambiance in an old restored house connected to Pelon's Tex-Mex with great outdoor patio and a few bar games! Ask Natalie the sweet bartender to tell you the story about her very creative cocktail pictured..or try the Mezcal twist on an Old Fashioned, super good!

Great place to chill and have some drinks and some good music. It has a small indoor bar but there is more space in the patio area.

Sign says open but they said they were closed, 4:15 pm. Went back later, the bartender was very pleasant.

Stopped by the bar before a concert and the bartender was a raging lunatic. Evidently her replacement was late for his shift so they were boisterously fighting. They left the bar to fight in the back room and the female bartender was scary mad. She accused my husband of stealing his drinks after the tall male bartender told him they were free because of her behavior. We left.

Best mezcal bar in town! Staff is highly knowledgeable and fun!

This place is a real gem, best margarita we ve had since we ve been here! Mark and his staff is really great, genuinely friendly and eager to please! We love it here! Don t pass it by.

508 is one of my favorite bars in town. Great tequila selection and knowledgeable bartenders. Happy hour deals are amazing... 5-7 Mon-Fri but ALL DAY on Sunday which makes for a rad sunday funday spot on their patio
