High Street Labs makes wlcome, a mobile loyalty system which doesn't need QR codes or NFC. Customers install an app onto their phone, and upload it their name and photo. Shops install an app on their tablet, and set up their location. When a customer enters the shop, their name and face appears on screen, along with a digital loyalty card. The shop can give stamps as with a normal paper loyalty card, and when a card fills up, they can offer a reward as a pleasant surprise to the customer. The reward can be their purchase for free, an upgrade, or perhaps a new product. The goal is to generate loyalty through relationships, and surprise and delight customers with unpredictable rewards.
