Wines Online was established in 2003 as an online wine shop in Singapore. They were one of the early pioneers of e-commerce in Singapore operating under the name The Wine Route Online even before e-commerce became a buzzword like it is today. They were included in the "45 of the best online shops" article by Simply Her magazine (May 2008 edition). They were definitely at the beginning of the online shopping revolution in Singapore. The idea for Wines Online was conceived very early on when they realised that physical wine shops in Singapore have limited shelf space to display all the bottles and bottles of wines and spirits available in the marketplace. They felt that with proper product curation, excellent customer service, and a dedicated and professional delivery team to handle customer order fulfilment, they would become the go-to wine and liquor supplier in Singapore.
