Wefugees is an online support community for refugee-topics. The online platform connects different actors in an interactive, transparent and open online community. Refugees, experts, institutions and locals are encouraged to ask and respond to any type of question and exchange critical knowledge. As a result, Wefugees empowers and enables refugees to actively participate in the integration process and to find new, creative solutions to problems naturally arising from living in a new and unfamiliar socio-cultural environment. Wefugees online community covers a wide range of integration related issues including asylum proceedings, housing markets, employment opportunities, cultural activities, education or health care, among others. In sum, Wefugees supports refugees’ self-support and, by extension, alleviates the pressure on traditional institutional actors to share their knowledge more effectively.
