Vapor PV enhances efficiency of solar panels in a cheap and easy-to-install manner by controlling their working temperature using vapor. Under laboratory conditions all solar panels display satisfactory performance. However, this situation changes once they are installed out in the open. Due to their color their temperature increases well above the "optimal" one tested in a lab and specified by the manufacturer. Studies have shown that solar panel efficiency decreases by 1-1.2% per every two degrees increase. On a hot summer day the panel temperature can increase by more than 50ºC above their recommended one. This implies an efficiency deterioration of about 20%.
