Yukai Engineering is a Tokyo-based startup specializing in developing robots that make everyday life moments – including family conversations -- more joyous and special experiences for users. Yukai’s award-winning products include Necomimi, a headband with fake cat ears that move in sync with the user’s brain waves (selected for the Time magazine’s “The World’s 50 Best Innovations 2011” list), BOCCO, a walkie-talkie-like communication robot that enables users to communicate with and take care of their loved ones from anywhere in the world, and Qoobo, a robotic pillow with a lifelike tail that moves in response to the user’s stroking and rubbing to provide a sense of comfort.
