Urbangems.org is an interactive digital survey developed by researchers from Cambridge’s Computing Laboratory, providing insights on people’s perception of the urban environment in London. The website had over 3300 visitors who rated the street views of London on three perceived qualities: beauty, quiet and ‘happiness’. The website uses image processing to identify which visual features, color and textures led to higher and lower ratings. This survey is targeted to better understand and predict people’s reactions to the built environment.
