TwonkyVision was founded in 2000 as a spin-off of the world-renowned Fraunhofer FOKUS Institute for Open Communications Systems. The TwonkyVision team has been driving innovation in the connected media area since its inception and has developed proven, high-performance universal plug-and-play (UpnP) audio-video middleware. This includes a software development kit for embedded devices as well as UPnP media server software – known as TwonkyMedia – that supports a broad range of platforms and media players, including the Sony PSP and the Microsoft Xbox 360.
