The Trip Hero App is a platform for travelers who are searching for a tailor made travel experience where they get in contact with a local person only based on their shared interests. Our concept is focused on a fun usability of the app including sustainable elements of gamification to reduce the high deleting rate that is common for travel apps. We also implemented a completely new element for travelers to receive “immediate” local tips and to evade time taking online research for local hotspots. After a successful trial phase in Cape Town with an app called "whatslocal“, we are now looking forward for the rollout of the 2.0 version available for Android and IOS.
