The Tricorder project aims to develop handheld devices capable of sensing a variety of atmospheric, electromagnetic, and spatial phenomena. The company currently has four Science Tricorder prototype models: Mark 1 , Mark 2 , Mark 3, and Mark 4. The Tricorder project has developed a phone-sized, open-source gadget with more than a dozen sensors which can provide a personalized weather report, detect X-rays and gamma rays, calculate distances to a target, and more. The Tricorder project was founded by Peter Jansen.
