About company

Transfer Devices develops technology and devices for advanced nanoelectronics and biomedical applications which benefit from high resolution structures of functional materials. Charles D. Schaper, the founder and CEO of TDI, conducted the research while at Stanford University that identified PVA as a high resolution replication material, leading to the inventions that utilize PVA for high resolution patterning because of its water-dissolvable characteristic. Dr. Schaper has received more than twenty international patents for this set of discoveries, inventions, and applications. He was with Stanford University for fifteen years, starting a post-doc and later a senior research scientist, prior to founding TDI. He has a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he developed new mathematical theories of probabilistic robust control, and an M.S. and B.S. from UConn. He has been a principal investigator of research grants awarded from the National Science Foundation.
