texma.org spun off of the swiss federal institute of technology, Zurich, Switzerland, when the Institute for Manufacturing Automation ceased activity on the retirement of Urs Meyer in 2007. Urs Meyer grew up in Frauenfeld, Switzerland. Following his graduation as electrical engineer at the ETH Zurich in 1966, he continued his studies in the area of mechanical engineering with a Ph.D. degree in 1972.
