The TetraStack concept was conceived by four mechatronics undergraduates at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) in response to the Green Warehouse Logistics Challenge set forth by the annual PneuDrive Mechatronics Competition. (www.pneudrive.co.za). inventors, from left to right, Adriane Bestic, Shuldham Peard, Ashley Naude and Christopher Sephton. A multidisciplinary team of software developers and engineers are currently preparing a third prototype design from which a physical proof of concept will be built. Construction is due to begin in early 2015 and will benefit extensively from the mentorship of Professor Khaled Abou-El-Hussein, an expert in manufacturing and the director of the School of Engineering, NMMU.
