About company
TeraCool has developed a technology based on the concept of industrial ecology that pairs a data center with an LNG terminal to conserve energy. The company’s suggestion is to use waste heat from a nearby data center as the heat source in the vaporization process. The technology links a data center’s rejected heat and an LNG terminal’s surplus refrigeration via a heat transfer loop. A secondary system utilizing an expansion turbine can produce zero-emissions electricity to supply the data center’s IT operations. The method is designed to achieve mutual energy conservation; cost savings; and environmental benefits, including air, water, and GHG emissions reductions. The IP has additional commercial opportunities in cryogenic and refrigeration applications. TeraCool is based in Massachusetts, United States.
