TeamPatent provides a browser-based collaborative editor for preparing and examining patent applications. What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get (WYSIWYG) natural language processing tracks part references, claim terms, and other features of the application, automatically validating compliance with requirements as specified in the Manual of Patent Examining Procedure (MPEP) through the specification, claims, and drawings. TeamPatent's semantically-aware editing/reviewing technology may be straightforwardly adapted to other enterprise and consumer subject areas; a prototype for electronic medical records is provided.
