Founded in May 2005 through a collaboration of Zhuang Chenchao, Fritz Demopoulos and Douglas Khoo, the company was listed as the largest travel media in China and third in the Asia Pacific region. According to monitoring data by iResearch in Jan 2013, Qunar topped the list of travel websites via seventy-four million seven hundred and forty thousand monthly visits, while its mobile application “Where to travel"" had over thirty four million activated users.
