Stephanus-Stiftung is a non-profit diaconal foundation that provides social services for people in special circumstances. It may be people of old age, housing and work opportunities for people with disabilities or mental illness, as well as services for children, adolescents, and families. It also is responsible for providing education for children, adolescents, and adults, hospice services, and services for refugees. It has always taken responsibility where other organizations have withdrawn. Thus, the work for disadvantaged, excluded, old, sick or disabled people could develop steadily thanks to courageous foresight. Despite being renamed several times, the Stephanus Foundation has resisted all the threatening challenges posed by political changes in German history since its inception.
