The best-known site running the software is [Identi.ca](http://identi.ca). Anyone can download StatusNet and run their own microblogging service, much like they can with traditional blogging platforms such as Wordpress or MoveableType. The company is pursuing a WordPress-like strategy by offering a cloud service for public and private microblogging sites.
