SMCLA is the Los Angeles chapter of the international Social Media Club organization. They are a nonprofit, volunteer-based club, with members throughout the Los Angeles community from a wide variety of industries including tech, marketing, PR, entertainment, entrepreneurial, and media. Their monthly SMCLA panels draw 50-100 in-person attendees and are always livestreamed, bringing in hundreds more viewers. Their panels cover topics that impact social media marketing now. They have a great slate of events planned for 2017, including livestreaming, a members-only photography workshop, paid media, sports and social media, and more.
