A specialist in transferring science into software for real-time and offline applications, Simul broke through in 2008 with Simul Weather, a real-time rendering system for sky, atmospheric effects and clouds, which won the British Computer Society's Project Prize for Research and Development. Simul's staff combine experience at the highest level in science, engineering, and the games industry. Customers include Boeing and Lockheed Martin for their simulation products, and Sony, Ubisoft, Bandai Namco and Microsoft Game Studios as customers in the games sector. In 2018, Simul raised £150,000 from MSIF/NPIF Equity to develop SimulCaster, a VR streaming system that permits virtual environments to be streamed from the Cloud directly to VR headsets.
