Siembra is an educational technology startup with a social mission and a low risk investment thesis. As a social mission Siembra levels the playing field for all high school students by connecting all key players in the college recruiting matrix into a single platform, providing virtual advocacy for students who are "under-matched" to post-secondary because universities have no efficient way to qualify them before the SAT. The current system is gated by the College Board which aggregates student names after the SAT exam and sells back to universities those names in a CSV file, generating a $500M dollar business. This obsolete 20th century model puts untenable pressure on students and parents attempting to find the right (affordable) college and for recruiters who must recruit their enrollment within a compressed 12 month recruiting window. Siembra makes the entire College Recruiting market more efficient and transparent for all stakeholders.
