The Skinny is a members-only online shopping destination featuring luxury skin care and beauty products at affordable prices in short-term events. The Skinny offers a hybrid sales and marketing solutions that actively drives new customer acquisition for our brand partners through "paid trial". The additional benefits offered to brand partners include brand awareness, inventory management and product education. This business model has been proven in other verticals by Gilt Groupe, Rue La La, Hautelook and One Kings Lane. The Skinny launched in November 2009 and had 9 very successful sales events. In August of 2012, The Skinny (beta) re-launched under new management.
