SEDCo is a new, Irish-based social enterprise. Their mission is to bring about social, environmental and economic transformation through the model of ‘commercial social enterprise’. Commercial social enterprises, or social businesses, are similar to normal businesses, what makes them different is that they re-invest all of their profits in achieving social objectives. Instead of profits going to shareholders or external owners, they’re re-invested in the company or directly used to help people in need. The social business concept has become a worldwide movement.
