SeatAdvance pairs price sensitive airline passengers with seat upgrades (focus on premium economy) through online, live auctions. SeatAdvance does not sell tickets like Expedia or individual airlines. The goal is take existing passengers and sell them upgraded seats that would have otherwise flown empty. Picture ebay for airline upgrades, but you only compete against other qualified passengers already listed on your flight and the product is guaranteed by airlines themselves (as opposed to random online sellers). Auctions are completely customizable for each airline. Metrics, such as which seats to auction, starting prices, passenger eligibility, etc. are at the airline’s discretion. However, SeatAdvance is developing a software solution which will give recommendations for all metrics, making it a seamless process that an airline can implement easily without needing additional overhead.
