SIE is funded by the Scottish Funding Council and Scottish Enterprise to help students in Scotland develop enterprise skills, discover their entrepreneurial talent and start up their own ventures. Entrepreneurship is an exciting and empowering life skill which brings many benefits to the individual and society. They aim to increase the number of students in Scotland who consider entrepreneurship a real option during their studies and after graduation. They do this through complementing institional enterprise activities with their own nationally focused activities, competitions and events, and ensuring there is as much help and support available from the wider community. Enterprise skills give students options after graduation, whether this means starting their own business or standing out to a potential employer.
