Polyethylene and polypropylene are some of the most abundant plastics around, however they are hard to recycle, even for post-industrial purposes. This is because they’re immiscible, which means they don’t mix together well, even after processing. This can lead to breaks and cracks in finished plastic products made of recycled polyethylene and polypropylene.
