QuoJax was started by a team of students, alumni, and faculty from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 2008 as a way to give users control over themselves and the way they interacted with the Internet. QuoJax has entered a public beta stage (as of May, 2010) and looks to attract users who are concerned with their privacy on the web and serve as an alternative to networks such as Facebook. QuoJax's features currently include e-mail, blogs, groups/discussions, profile creation, and voting (which allows users to vote on new features and other various polls to help guide QuoJax's direction). QuoJax is also in development with a creative marketplace. Currently, QuoJax is allowing 250 users into the first beta round and will open up to more shortly after.
