Wisely helps online students to meet their personal learning goals on online education platforms like Coursera. Users pledge cash that they will meet a self-define goal (i.e. 85% in the course). If they complete their goal, the user will receive a financial reward. If not, Wisely will keep the pledge. The reward is calculated based on how difficult of a goal the user sets (i.e. a user who pledges to meet a 90% goal will be allocated more reward than a user who pledges to meet a 70% goal). Wisely hopes to solve two of the biggest problems currently plaguing the MOOC space -- high drop out rates and low student motivation. Wisely hopes to eventually broaden its feature set to include other aspects that help students stay engaged, connected and motivated.
