PortalVu provides a social-media platform specialized in mobile video. It enables its users to broadcast and upload segments of their lives and put it on the map for their followers and the rest of the world to see. PortalVu’s platform also offers a social media profile with personalized news feeds and notifications; thread creation and contributions towards trends or content-specific hashtags; and geo-tagging of threads with interactive thumbnails and a hierarchical data distribution. It was launched in 2013 and is based in Pickering, Ontario.
