Parallella is a credit card-sized computer based on the Epiphany multi-core chips from [Adapteva](https://www.crunchbase.com/organization/adapteva), that aims to democratize access to parallel computing. It can be used as a standalone computer, an embedded device or as a component in a scaled out parallel server cluster. Parallella includes a low power dual core ARM A9 processor and runs several of the popular Linux distributions, including Ubuntu. The Epiphany co-processor chips consists of an array of RISC processors programmable in bare metal C/C++ or in a parallel programming frameworks such as OpenCL, MPI, and OpenMP. It is applied in solutions developed for various sectors: consumer, computing infrastructure, military and aerospace, medical, communication, and industrial and instrumentation. Parallella was launched in 2012 and is manufactured in Lexington, Massachusetts.
