ORBEM improves life with AI-powered sensor technology. It builds a sustainable future, where food production is so efficient that it is possible to feed everyone, without depleting tomorrow’s resources. ORBEM started as a research project at the TU Munich in 2017. In 2018, ORBEM won top prizes in national and international entrepreneurship competitions, and received significant mediatic attention in outlets such as Tageschau, Bayerische Rundfunk, and Süddeutsche Zeitung. It was named one of the top 50 German startups in 2018. It was accepted in 2019 as one of the last competitors in the IBM Watson AI XPRIZE and recently secured >€1.5M in equity-free funding from, amongst others, the German Federal Government, which will enable constructing the first prototype and acquiring ORBEM’s own data.
