About company
Optishell is an electro-optics company that specializes in technologies in the area of movie piracy with a focus on the illegal recording of films through the use of camcorders or handheld cameras and ticket fraud. It designs its ROSE100 to identify and prevent the illegal recording of films projected in movie theaters. The system consists of a detection head located near the screen to detect pirates who are trying to record the film with a camcorder or smartphone. Once it detects a pirate, it sends an alert to the central control room, where it connects a visual channel to the theater to enable identification of the person recording the film. When the operators in the central control room detect a pirate in the theater, they can send their supervisor an MMS followed by a phone call, with images of the suspected pirate saved for further examination.
