OpenShot Video Editor is a free, open-source video editor for Linux. It is licensed under the GNU General Public License version 3.0. It can be used to create films with videos, photos, and music files; add sub-titles, transitions, and effects; and export films to DVD, YouTube, Vimeo, Xbox 360, and other common formats. OpenShot is written primarily in Python, with a GTK+ interface, and uses the MLT framework, FFmpeg, and Blender to power many of its features. OpenShot was created in August 2008 by Jonathan Thomas, a software developer from Arlington, Texas.
