It features the ability to write applications in Java, Ruby, Node.js, Python, PHP, and more. It gives access to a private database instance with full control and choose between classic relational and modern NoSQL data stores including MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and SQLite. In addition to the built-in languages and services, developers can add other language, database, or middleware components that they need through the OpenShift cartridge API. OpenShift was founded in 2010.
