About company

The OpenLDAP Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation with a charter to promote open-source LDAP development. The foundation is funded by contributions from sponsors and contributors. The foundation coordinates the activities of the OpenLDAP Project that it established in August 1998. The project is a collaborative effort to develop an open-source LDAP suite of applications and development tools. OpenLDAP Software is a suite of directory software developed by the internet community. It is an open-source implementation of the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol. The suite includes slapd (stand-alone LDAP daemon); libraries implementing the LDAP protocol; and utilities, tools, and sample clients.
