Hunt Country Hops is New York's newest Hops Yard. hops is used in the brewing process to make beer. it is grown on one acre sized lots and grows 20 feet tall. with the new farm brew license being passed in new York, brewers will now be required to use 50 percent of the products from with in the state. one acre of hops is equal to 1/3 of the usage of a average sized brewer. one acre of hops yields roughly 2500 pounds of hops worth between 75-100,000 dollars. but full yield potential is not reached until the third year of growth. we are looking to plant one acre to start of with three different verities. in in ten years we hope to have ten plus acres in the ground.
