The goal of OSCSB is to increase the involvement of Orange County citizens in local conservation-based science through guest lectures, outdoor activities, and research opportunities. It is a local chapter of the Society for Conservation Biology (SCB): "an international professional organization dedicated to promoting the scientific study of the phenomena that affect the maintenance, loss, and restoration of biological diversity."
