Northstar Data Systems was established in 1994 as a custom programming firm for business applications. When the Internet began to go mainstream in 1996 they began focusing their business on it. Initially writing web site applications for their business clients, by 2000 they were mainly focused on writing their own subscription based business web applications. They released the first version of their FilesToGo.com product in 2001. FilesToGo.com continues to be a huge success for them.
