Medical images aren't utilized to their full potential because they are subjectively evaluated, often leaving out crucial quantitative information. This quantitative information is typically not obtained because first, the image must be segmented (manually coloured in, or annotated) by an expert, which is slow (think hours) and prone to human error. Segmentations provide quantitative metrics and help plan for surgeries by viewing 3D models, or 3D printing structures. NeuralSeg uses deep learning, producing state-of-the-art segmentation accuracies that are comparable to inter-human error. Furthermore, NeuralSeg segments 3D medical images in seconds to minutes. We are harnessing this efficiency to offer on-demand image segmentation via a web-application.
