Nerve Smart Systems develops and markets a disruptive battery-management system called "Nerve Switch® " - a semiconductor-based switch device that allows for specific and individual control of battery cells according to their state of health and state of charge in large-scale battery systems. It ensures a dynamic topology for battery systems and incorporates second life directly by maximizing battery capacity usage. Due to its ability to control the active number of cells, most DC/DC power electronics are made redundant. The increased number of zero emission ports, are generating a demand for high-efficiency battery systems and high-power charging for e-vessels. Hence the continued development of applications to the maritime sector are an important focus area for the Nerve Switch® technology. Nerve Smart Systems has received an EU Horizon 2020 grant for the development of the Nerve Switch® battery backed High Power Charging system
