Born from SFU's ExCITE labs in 1995 and assimilated by Microsoft Corporation in 2001. NCompass Labs began by developing the NCompass World Wide Web Browser making Microsoft's OLE controls available over the internet. ActiveX plug-ins for Netscape were next (DocActive, ControlActive and ScriptActive) followed by a Content Management product for the Microsoft platform, NCompass Resolution.
